Kids in the Kitchen is part of a larger initiative put forth by the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) designed to promote the organization’s long-time commitment to improving the health and wellness of children. Both the Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties (JLKD) and AJLI believe that children and families empowered with the knowledge of nutrition and fitness will live healthier, happier lives.

Our program consists of a three-part workshop in which children participate in an exercise activity, a nutrition tutorial and a healthy food demonstration. An emphasis is placed on small, low-cost changes children and their families can make to add nutritional value to their meals and also on the importance of exercise for optimal physical and mental health.

JLKD is proud to provide its Kids in the Kitchen program for hundreds of children in our community. The Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties partners with the Fox Valley Park District and SPARK Aurora to provide hands-on activities, food demonstrations, and other resources aimed at healthy eating and living.
