What is the Little Black Dress Initiative?

The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a week long, social media-driven campaign. Through this initiative Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties (JLKD) members and the community come together to increase awareness of food insecurity and poverty in our area. LBDI Advocates will wear the same black dress (or black outfit) for 5 consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on a person’s access to resources, confidence, and professional opportunities. Beyond advocating to increase food security, JLKD partners with many organizations that help support those in poverty.
