AURORA, Ill. (June 1, 2018)— The Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. (JLKD) is pleased to honor our 2018 members transferring to a sustaining status.
These sustaining members have given a minimum of five years of service to Junior League and all have contributed extensively to the betterment of our organization. We are grateful for their service to date and look forward to continued engagement in their new sustainer roles.
The newly sustaining members are composed of five talented and generous women, dedicated to voluntarism: Nichole Consol of Elgin, Megan Jorgensen of Naperville, Elizabeth Nelson of Naperville, Abigail Poyser of Elmhurst and Sue Wilson of Naperville.
These sustaining members have given a minimum of five years of service to Junior League and all have contributed extensively to the betterment of our organization. They have held leadership roles, including Board level positions, led teams, organized member driven events, engaged with our community partners and so much more. Many of them have served in multiple leagues. We are grateful for their service to date and look forward to continued engagement in their new sustainer roles.
The Junior League of Kane and DuPage Counties, Inc. (JLKD) provides outreach services to organizations and individuals in Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will Counties. Our mission is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. JLKD works to improve the lives of women and children 0-5 who live in poverty in Kane and DuPage Counties. We focus our efforts of programs, direct service and advocacy on the areas of nutrition and health, early childhood education, and family stability and shelter. JLKD partners with a strong network of area service agencies and schools in the surrounding area to expand our impact within our communities.
